Abstract
This study aimed to develop adult learners’ Oral Fluency (OF) with Special Reference to Phonological Awareness (PA). To identify the learners’ OF different levels, the lecturer designed a rubric and the pre\ post-test. Then, the lecturer designed the program to develop the learners’ OF and PA through a program based on the Eclectic Approach. The lecturer applied a program to the target learners. The participants were 5 adult learners (N= 5), enrolled in a course to enhance their English (OF) with special reference to (PA). They had a ten-day intensive online English course; approximately three and half hours a day to boost their OF besides their PA. The learners had some assignments, which may take them approximately four hours on a daily basis to be accomplished. The learners’ scores on the pre/post-test were statistically analyzed using a t-test, either calculated or tabulated, besides the effect size factor. In addition, a qualitative analysis of the learners’ progress was conducted and analyzed. Both quantitative and qualitative results revealed the positive effect of using the eclectic approach in developing the adult learners’ OF, increasing their PA, enhancing both grammatical accuracy and complexity, and improving learners' lexical sophistication and diversity.
